Throughout the History of the Boy Scouts of America, the rank of Eagle Scout is one of the greatest achievement of a young man’s Scouting career. It is the only rank a Scout can earned that he holds his entire life. In the modern era, only about 4% of boys that have participated in Scouts attain the rank.

In 2017, fifty-six Scouts in the Jayhawk Area Council achieved the rank of Eagle. Through the projects of these Eagle Scouts, 53 organizations benefited from over 6,500 hours of community service. The Eagle Scouts and their project information can be found by visiting

Among the Scouts to earn their Eagle in 2017 are three sets of twins. These young men are Blaine & Charles Fry of Topeka, Cooper & Janson Garman of Topeka, and Nathan and Nicholas Ottens of Marysville.
