Kimtober was extra special this year since I turned 50! Here is a video that my brother made for my birthday!
Building A Business: Starting from the bottom and not having a huge cash flow can make progress slow. Many people might give up because they are not ready for the challenge but not me! I plan on making this website successful and helping as many people as I can! This means, a lot of meetings!

High School Friends in KC!: October is a busy month for birthdays in my friend group. My best friends from 7th grade are twin and they turned 50 on October 3rd and my friend Susan turned 50 on October 7th. I am the baby of the bunch and turned 50 on October 22nd. The four of us planned a weekend in Kansas City with other friends. We went out to eat and shopping then back out to each and the casino. It wasn't a out of control drunk weekend. It was just a night weekend with great friends! This would be the first weekend that I celebrate my birthday!
Lenexa Chili Cook-off - This was my first year attending this event. I was told by many people that it was a fun time. My friend Tom invited me to come hangout for the weekend and experience the Lenexa Chili Cook-off weekend festivities.
Friday night was basically a party night where each booth set up their kitchen area under tents and drank. Knowing that I can not handle two night in a row, I chose to be the Designated Driver! This allowed Tom to enjoy the night without worry! I met tons of new people and had a great time!
Saturday is when the chili is prepared and cooked and they give out samples. This year they had around 200 different booths. They compete in three food groups, salsa, chicken wings and chili. Our group won a ribbon for wings and chili. The weather was cloudy and made for a perfect day to eat chili. Once the awards were given out, we went to eat dinner and take a nap before we went to a 70s/80s themed bar called Funky Town close to Kaufman stadium. I was in LOVE!! What a great night! I could go there all the time!
Sunday we actually got up and walked 6 miles at the trails! I am pretty impressed that I still had that much energy left in me! I mark this down as another great new experience!
Steak Dinner: This makes the 6th year that I went to celebrate my birthday at North Star. They give you a free steak dinner on your birthday. I always bring a big group! They have amazing food!! Always a good time!
My birthday weekend: I sort of use the entire month but this was my actual birthday weekend! Friday night my cousins Chad, Tom and I all went to Hamburger Mary's for dinner and drag BINGO! We did not win but we had a great time!
I had planned on going to do the Wicked Wine Walk on Saturday but plans changed so my friends and I went out to eat and then to a bar called Local Tap in Overland Park. Disco Dick and the Mirror balls were playing and they are a fun band. We had a great time! We did venture to the other bars in the same area for a bit. My friend Shawn in the General Manager of Fuel and he put us on the VIP list so we didn't have to pay cover to get in. Sort of felt like we were special!! I can make friends anywhere!!
Asthma and Allergies: I am finally not coughing all the time! I had to start using a netty pot and they also put me on cholesterol medicine since it keeps going up! They believe it is hereditary.
Chelsea and Max get married- As if this month wasn't busy enough, we added a wedding. My daughter and Max got married on October 29, 2016 in a small ceremony at Old Prairie Town chapel. It was beautiful. My friends from Dallas drove into town. This made me very happy! I miss seeing them and they brought me Val's Cheesecake from Dallas! OMG!! I prepared all the food and helped with many other things! The cost of this wedding was pretty affordable since my friends did most of what needed to be done! My daughter sewed her own dress! It was amazing! The reception/dance was at Croco Square Dance hall and tons of family and friends showed up to help celebrate this awesome day.
Potluck 2016- This is also the sixth year that I have had a pot luck dinner at my house. I really just do it so I have a reason to clean my house but it always ends up as a good time. This year we had about 16 people show up. Many people had things come up at the last minute and they weren't able to attend. We had great food and a fun time! It was a great end to a very busy weekend!
Halloween: I didn't do anything for Halloween this year. Next year, we are going to kick some Halloween's butt. I actually went to Blind Tiger for Mundane Monday with Ryan and it was pretty empty there. Kolton was with his mother this year so I didn't have a child to take around!
Toni's Birthday Party: I stopped by Toni's birthday party to say hi to all my friends! I love seeing those girls!!
Rockin Road to Dublin: Chris called with last minute tickets to go so this show at TPAC. My friend Susan was my date for the evening. Her husband was out of town and she wasn't too worn out by girls weekend in KC. It was an amazing show!
Movie and Pizza Night with Kolton: I bought the dvd for Halloweentown and wanted to watch it with Kolton. After the movie, we made homemade pizza! Kolton helped me put the pepperoni on!
Equity Bank Customer Appreciation Day: I stopped in at the bank to find that they were having a customer appreciation day! They had hot dogs and chip and I was given a goody bag full of fun things! The name of my bank has changed like four times but I have always be faithful to which bank decides to take over. I like Equity bank and if you are looking for a bank and use your debit card at an ATM a lot, they pay all the fees. That is a pretty good perk!
