Every year, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Topeka presents severe weather safety and information talks which are open to the general public.
Even though we are in the midst of winter weather, Shawnee County Emergency Management is pleased to announce that the free severe weather talks have been scheduled.
The talk is free and will take place on Monday evening March 5, 2017 at 7pm in the Washburn University Memorial Union.
The talk is presented by meteorologists from the NWS office in Topeka; the 2018 show will focus on severe storm safety, preparedness, and awareness.
Storm structure and accurate identification of important cloud features associated with super cell and squall line thunderstorms will also be touched on.
Announcements and updates will be made as the date of the talks approaches.
